I have made two more of them. Because I was looking at the eBay Minerals → Display Specimens auction listings, highest-price first (because those are usually the prettiest pictures.)

On the left is tanzanite, on the right is a clear (white) sapphire with a blue area inside. (Also, it looks like a bird face, to me. Or maybe it's just late.)

It's all right here, if you're interested.

Two videos (out of 80-ish) of an amazing Japanese cat. Maru loves boxes. Maru should try out for a Studio Ghibli film. I heart Maru.

So if you're my age and up, you probably remember these shows. Especially Airwolf, with that awesome helicopter and that hot guy SUPER HOT GUY? Anyway, behind the cut are two seriously awesome mashups: Star Wars/Airwolf intro, and Star Wars/MacGuyver intro. (The MacGuyver one is seriously impressive; I love all the "gadget" shots!)

Did the subject get your attention? Good. (I really have no adequate icon for this, but oh well.)
This blog post speaks of the recent death of a NASA scientist — Mel Averner — who went on the record with quite possibly the BEST QUOTE EVAR. (Emphasis mine.)
I have been laughing at that last bit... ALL DAY.
This blog post speaks of the recent death of a NASA scientist — Mel Averner — who went on the record with quite possibly the BEST QUOTE EVAR. (Emphasis mine.)
In 1990, a musical group called Digital Underground came out with an album called "Sex Packets," claiming that a NASA scientist had developed this hitherto unknown item "to satisfy astronauts' sexual appetites during space travel."
Averner -- who was in charge of life science research for NASA [and] would have known about such things -- described the "sex packets" as "absolute nonsense." Then he explained: "First, it would be impossible to satisfy the carnal urges of astronauts. Secondly, to my knowledge, unbridled lust has never interfered with a space mission."
I have been laughing at that last bit... ALL DAY.

I have been shamed by my icon meme, which was approximately 53% Usagi icons, despite my best efforts, to have a little more diversity in my iconage. Presenting: The Moon, from The Four Stars by Alphonse Mucha, circa 1902. (With a couple of textures, of course.) It's not that there's anything wrong with dear Usagi-chan, and certainly doing a 100-icon challenge will result in having a lot of icons for a given subject, but I'd like to have a few other interests represented, so I'm making some efforts to do so. Also, right now I'm really leaning towards textless icons, rather than icons that say things (with a few exceptions, Animal Crossing: City Folk among them.) I may remake some things from the challenge down the line that I'd rather have textless (nothing like a challenge to force you to put words on things.)
Oh, uh, I also made this from Sakura-hime Kaden, if anyone wants to steal:

Also this, I love Sleeping Beauty:

There you go. Diversity. Or at least, more so than before. :P
